Vestibular Rehabilitation:

This program's main focus is for individuals who experience vertigo from a mechanical origin in the ear. When the vestibular canales, cupula, saccule, ampulla, and the utricle are not working properly and cause an over stimulation of the sensory cilia in such areas. As a result, the brain becomes confused and causes "the room to spin" (vertigo), dizziness, nausea, at times vomiting, and falls may occur. Our therapists have learned the appropriate evaluation procedures and techniques such as the Hill-Pikes positioning etc. to assist you for these type of problems. However, if you are experiencing problems caused by infection or damage to the inner ear areas and/or the auditory nerve, these techniques will not work. Appropriate home responsibilities along with explanation of your problem will be integrated in the treatment process.
